Thank You for Making Our Fall Book Sale One for the Books!
What a dazzling weekend it was! The Friends of the Urbana Regional Library (FURL) are absolutely thrilled by the outpouring of support at our Fall Used Book Sale. Whether you donated, volunteered, shopped, or simply shared our event, you made a difference—and we’re deeply grateful.
There’s something magical about “The Life of a Used Book”—each one taking center stage, ready for its next act:
It starts with a donation. Generous community members like you whom give their books a chance to shine all over again.
Our sorting volunteers get to work. All year long, the FURL team carefully sorts, organizes, and prepares each book for its next chapter. (Want to get involved? We’d love your help!)
Book Sale time arrives. The tables are set up and stocked by more incredible volunteers, doors open, and book lovers of all ages discover their next star read at a bargain price!
The encore. Many books return to us after being enjoyed, ready for another curtain call at a future sale.
This beautiful cycle is only possible because of YOU—our supporters, donors, and volunteers. Your love for books keeps our library programs strong and our shelves full of stories.
Save the Date:
We’re already excited for our Spring Used Book Sale, coming in late March 2026. Mark your calendars and keep those donations coming. You never know which book will take center stage next/again.
From all of us at FURL: Thank you for being part of “The Life of a Used Book.” Happy reading, and see you in March…or hopefully at our monthly FURL meetings. Our next one is Tuesday, October 14 at 6:30pm in the upstairs conference room at the Urbana Regional Library. All are welcome, and leadership positions are available!
